WHEN IS OUR SHOWS?

We will have two shows a year, one in the spring and one in the fall. The location may change based upon needs and space for the event.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN OUR SHOW?

Anyone can participate in this event. The show will be broken down into two separate divisions, youth ( 17 and under ) and adults ( 18 and over ). Each division will be broken down into sections, one section for standard poultry and one for Bantams.

DO I HAVE TO BE NPIP CERTIFIED TO PARTICIPATE?

Although we strongly encourage everyone to be NPIP/AI clean, it is not required. If you ARE certified you will be required to provide proof ( NPIP card ) of your current license at the door the day of event. If you are NOT certified, we will have a separate entrance and each bird you are showing will have to be tested and show negative as a one day pass via blood sample taken from under the wing. Luckily, in the state of Florida it is free to become certified. If this is something your interested in doing please visit https://www.poultryimprovement.org , or reach out to one of our club directors to obtain more information.

WHAT ARE WE FOLLOWING WHEN IT COMES TO STANDARDS?

At this time, until we have built up interest, we will not be having a "sanctioned" show. Keep in mind, the goal of this event is to either prepare everyone for the sanctioned shows or educate those who are interested in doing so in the future. With that being said, we will still be following the standards of perfection that have been provided by the ABA ( American Bantam Association ) and APA. ( American Poultry Association ). If sanctioned shows is something you potentially would like to get into, we advise that you become a member of those two association's based upon what you will be showing/breeding and read up on the standards of perfection. Doing so will not only educate you on how to choose the right birds to show or how to breed for perfection but will also give you a better understanding of the birds in your flock and their needs.

HOW WILL THE BIRDS BE SPLIT UP?

Each person who registers to show will be assigned a number. { EXAMPLE 1 } "John Doe has 10 birds of different classes he wants to show, all 10 will be assigned the same number". { EXAMPLE 2 } "Jane Doe has 5 birds of the same class that she wants to show, all 5 will be assigned the same number." Those numbers will be placed on the cages along with the breed, variety and if the bird is a cock ( adult male ) , hen ( adult female ) , cockerel  ( young male ) or pullet ( young hen ). The show itself will be split into "classes" ( if you are unsure what a class is, that is where your standard of perfection book comes handy. If you don't have one and are unable to purchase one, one of our directors will be able to advise you of your class ), "variety" ( color based on the standards for each breed, also found in the standards of perfection book ) and sex and age of birds.

HOW WILL MY BIRD BE JUDGED?
